History of Cedar Mill
Cedar Mill is named for a cedar sawmill built on Cedar Mill Creek in 1855 by John Jones. The community developed around the mill and later a general store and post office. For over a century Cedar Mill remained a small agricultural crossroads, but the opening of Sunset Highway in the 1940s and subsequent suburban development transformed it into a residential community.
