History of West Linn
West Linn was incorporated in 1913, though the area's history goes back much further. It was named after Lewis F. Linn, a U.S. Senator from Missouri who championed the Oregon Territory. The area was home to early paper mills powered by Willamette Falls. Suburban growth accelerated through the 20th century, and West Linn is now a fully residential community with a small downtown.
